HEAT TREATMENT SERVICES

Heat treatment is a method used to alter the physical, and sometimes chemical properties of a material. Heat treatment involves the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve a desired result such as hardening or softening of a material. Heat treatment techniques include annealing, case hardening, precipitation strengthening, tempering and quenching. It is noteworthy that while the term heat treatment applies only to processes where the heating and cooling are done for the specific purpose of altering properties intentionally, heating and cooling often occur incidentally during other manufacturing processes such as hot forming or welding.

INTERCON Energy provides heat treatment services usually as stress relieving of welds and their heat affected zones with proven heat treatment equipments both in workshop and on-site conditions. Heat treatment operators follows relevant procedures during their work and all the results including charts are recorded as required by applicable procedures .

INTERCON Energy employs 12 channel 80 kva Electroheat and 12 channel 70 kva Cooperheat heat treatment instruments for heat treatment applications especially on pipe welds during prewelding and afterwelding stages. Up to 3 ceramic heaters to each channel can be connected. The dimensions of our flexible ceramic heaters are in a range of 75-670 mm wide, and 600-850 mm long as standard. On the other hand, we are capable of supplying ceramic heaters having any dimension on request. The main parameters in determination of ceramic heater dimensions are hot band width, hot band amplitude, pipe size, pipe schedule, and desired heating level. The results of heat treatment be rated by hardness test performed right after heat treatment application.

We obtain precise and fast readings with our portable Mitutoyo hardmatic LEEB hardness testers in construction sites.
